Bucharest / Nice — Media Consulta International’s Romanian operations recorded a sharp increase in revenues in 2024, supported by regional expansion and a diversified business model, even as rising costs and continued investment weighed on profitability, according to company data.

Media Consulta International SRL, led by founder and acting Chief Executive Officer Mihai Craiu, reported a 66.6% year-on-year increase in turnover in 2024, reflecting higher demand for integrated communication, marketing and strategic consulting services across Central and Eastern Europe.

Operational performance remained solid, with revenues and EBITDA rising by an estimated 28% to 31%, underscoring continued efficiency amid scale-up. However, net profit margins held at around 12%, signaling growing pressure from technology investments, workforce expansion, logistics costs and the increasing complexity of cross-border projects.

European Footprint and Financial Position

At group level, Media Consulta International Holding AG reported total assets of approximately €10 million in 2023, pointing to a stable balance sheet. In the Central and Eastern Europe region, where the group operates from hubs in Bucharest and Nice, Media Consulta generated an estimated €4 million in revenue and net profit of about €500,000.

Across Europe, the group posted consolidated revenues of roughly €15 million, with EBITDA estimated at around €1.5 million, while revenues at Media Consulta International AG stood at approximately €10 million, based on the latest available data.

Diversified Revenue Streams

The company’s revenue mix remains a key buffer against market volatility. Full-service advertising accounts for an estimated 55% of revenues, followed by real estate and digital out-of-home advertising at 22%. Government tenders and special events contribute 10%, media barter operations 8%, and hospitality and premium experiential services around 5%.

This structure allows Media Consulta to combine traditional communications with digital marketing, business intelligence and the monetization of media and real estate assets.

Leadership and Strategy

Media Consulta operates under a regional leadership model. Harald Zulauf, chief executive of the German holding, oversees Western European markets, while Mihai Craiu, CEO and owner for Central and Eastern Europe, manages operations from the group’s main hub in Nice, with offices in Bucharest, Marbella and London.

The group also works with partner agencies and local offices in more than 80 countries, enabling the execution of large international mandates without maintaining an extensive permanent footprint.

Outlook

Looking ahead, Media Consulta faces the challenge of sustaining profitability amid cost inflation and accelerating digital transformation. Management views the integration of consulting, communication and business intelligence services into a unified operating platform as a key competitive advantage.

Media Consulta International has evolved into a multi-asset business hub, with activities spanning financial investments, real estate, digital out-of-home media, investment banking and hospitality, built around its core communications and consulting operations.
