Technology that helps seekers find faith-anchored answers in the Bible
Developed using emerging AI technologies, “Adam” offers a dramatic advantage over traditional reading. While it typically takes a person about three months to read through the entire Bible in search of spiritual answers, “Adam” can answer 10,000 questions in just five minutes. Even more impressively, it can process all 31,102 Bible verses in under 2 seconds and deliver a relevant verse in only 0.2 seconds.
“Adam” is 100 to 3,000 times faster than a human—and it does all this without judgment, without rebuke, and without hesitation. Its answers are clear, coherent, and aimed at fostering understanding rather than enforcing dogma.
“I congratulate you on this project! At the Secretariat for Religious Affairs, we are proud to support such initiatives,” said Mihai Miron, Head of Service at the State Secretariat for Religious Affairs, who also noted how inspired the name choice for the chatbot is.
“We hope Adam will become a genuine support tool for all those interested in spiritual knowledge—whether believers, students, teachers, or researchers. It’s an intelligent guide that makes the complexity of the Bible accessible through a natural and friendly dialogue,” said Beatrice Lospa, Director of Academia Speranța, during the official launch event held on Saturday, May 31, 2025.
Mădălin Bîrdeanu, the technical lead of the SIMAVI development team, explained the underlying technology—a “language model specialized in biblical sources”—and shared some key figures: “The database uploaded into Adam’s ‘brain’ is approximately equal to 40% of Wikipedia. And it’s growing! That means 357 documents, 31,102 indexed verses, 284,730 segments, and 216,394,800 words.” He also announced that Adam will soon be able to respond in English and Hungarian.
This initiative is part of SIMAVI’s broader portfolio of AI-driven solutions. The company is also known for “Antonia” – the virtual assistant implemented at Cluj-Napoca City Hall, which supports citizens in digitally submitting administrative requests. Antonia currently manages over 60 types of forms and is being upgraded into a holographic interface, enhancing digital interaction with public administration.
With “Adam,” SIMAVI expands its expertise in smart chatbot development into a new domain—spirituality—by merging cutting-edge technology with the deeply human need for answers, peace, and meaning.
